Growing up, my dad took the most beautiful, everyday photos of me and my brothers on film. I've always cherished those photos and I wanted to be able to provide the same gift to my own children. So when it came time for my daughter to be born, I decided to learn photography in order to best document our life together. I was gifted my first professional camera the day after we got home from the hospital. 

Somewhere along the way, I got so caught up in shooting for other people that I forgot to take photos of the people I love in my own life - the reason I got a camera in the first place. As I began to correct this mistake, I fell in love with the art of documenting the mundane. And it feels incredibly important. Because in the mundane lies the love that is in the present moment. It's a love that isn't striving, isn't hustling, isn't trying to impress. It's a cozy, snuggle in closer kind of love. An accepting you as you are love. It's a love that keeps our creative juices abundantly flowing and we're on the hunt for more.
