Anuja and Ram: a DC love story.

Although they live in NYC now, these two met and fell in love in this city, so for their pre-celebration civil ceremony they chose to travel back to this place that means so much to them and get married on a bridge where they once chatted about the possibility of marriage in their earlier dating days. It was just the three of us, as they chose to be their own officiants, which is legal in DC. As they said their private vows, cars passing by honked in celebration, though they told me afterwards that they were oblivious to this as they were so wrapped up in the moment.

After their ceremony, they gave me a tour of some meaningful spots in their old neighborhood, including his old home, a bar, and even a CVS. It was casual and romantic and full of nostalgia and I felt incredibly honored to witness it.
